🍓Health doesn’t have to be a constant battle

These past few months I’ve been asking the Holy Spirit to teach me about our bodies. It doesn’t feel right to need so much research or constantly diet just to feel normal.

I used to be angry and frustrated with God that health seems so difficult to accomplish. I’ve repented and asked Him to teach me how to listen to my body and reveal its secrets.

After praying for revelation, I started getting dreams.

In the first dream, I sat up in bed and I could see through my body. Every organ had a book connected to it, filled with information. I started looking at my hands and as I was about to open one of these books, the devil walked in with rage and said,

“do you really think you’re worthy enough to receive this information? You actually think that? You’re not even worthy enough to be sleeping in a bed, get on the floor!”

I understood from this dream that our bodies have more than enough to share with us if we pay attention but the devil wants us to suffer and to live in confusion, doubt, and constant struggle.

Jesus said, “My yolk is easy and my burden is light”, and I believe that.

It doesn’t always feel like it, but I will take Him up on what He said and come to Him for peace and wisdom when it feels like I’m going in circles.

The Spirit of Gluttony

A few weeks after having that dream, I had another.

❗️Just a warning: It’s a gruesome.

I saw an extremely obese man who ate everything on the table in front him, once he ate absolutely everything, he ripped open his chest and started eating his own flesh. And he reveled in it, he was in absolute glee because he found more to consume. He was blinded by his need for more. Numb to the pain he was causing himself.

This dream shocked me. That someone can be so addicted to the pleasures of food that he can eat himself to death, literally. Yet we see it all around us to some extent.

I realized that this obese man was the spirit of gluttony. He is eager to destroy and devour us if we don’t listen to our intuition.

“Be well balanced and always alert, because your enemy, the devil, roams around incessantly, like a roaring lion looking for its prey to devour.” - 1 Peter 5:8

I wouldn’t say I struggle with gluttony but I didn’t have a healthy relationship with food. To me, food = fat. I remember around the age of 10, I was told that eating two meals a day was too much and I carried that with me for most of my life. I needed a healthy relationship with food and realize that it’s not evil and that God has blessed it for us to enjoy.

But, this dream also helped me understand how to listen to my body when it has eaten enough. I would limit what I ate so much that I would eventually binge. It has taught to me that under eating and over eating are both damaging (especially in the context of women’s health).

This revelation also helped me eat slower and understand that eating is communion, even if you’re eating alone, it’s communion with Jesus. Slow down, don’t devour your food just to get that dopamine of eating something tasty.

  • I want to mention that not everyone who struggles with weight struggles with gluttony. It can be stress or thyroid issues. Or maybe you also need to heal your relationship with food. Ask the Holy Spirit to guide you and reveal what you need. (I will also share resources and tips in future posts and the Honey Dreamers broadcast channel on Instagram).

  • God thank you for creating us in Your wisdom. I pray that You reveal the truth to me about my body. Heal my relationship with food. If I do struggle with gluttony, I lose the spirit of gluttony from my soul in Jesus name. And I bind to my soul Your spirit of love, a sound mind and discernment. Thank you for being on my side and helping me heal. Help me become better at trusting You every day. I believe that I am worthy of receiving Your revelation knowledge that will set me free from fear and/or addiction to food. Help me enjoy it the way you intended.

  • When you discover something sweet, don’t overindulge and eat more than you need, for excess in anything can make you sick of even a good thing.

  • Take the carefree birds as your example. Do you ever see them worry? They neither grow their own food nor put it in a storehouse for later. Yet God takes care of every one of them, feeding each of them out of the abundance of his love and goodness. Isn’t your life more precious to God than a bird? Be carefree in the care of God!

  • Lovers of God hunger after truth, but those without understanding feast on foolishness and don’t even realize it.

  • Yes, you are free to eat anything without worrying about your conscience, 26for the earth and all its abundance belongs to the Lord.

  • Whether you eat or drink, live your life in a way that glorifies and honors God.

  • For when it comes time to eat, some gobble down their food before anything is given to others—one is left hungry while others become drunk!

  • All that we eat is made sacred by the Word of God and prayer.

  • Don’t live in the excesses of drunkenness or gluttony, or waste your life away by partying all the time,

  • But the one who has misgivings feels miserable if he eats meat, because he doubts and doesn’t eat in faith. For anything we do that doesn’t spring from faith is, by definition, sinful.

  • They will require celibacy and dietary restrictions that God doesn’t expect, for he created all foods to be received with the celebration of faith by those who fully know the truth.

  • I repeat: Don’t let worry enter your life. Live above the anxious cares about your personal needs.

  • Yes, we know that what you eat will not bring you closer to God. You are no better if you don’t eat certain foods and no better if you do.

  • Guide me away from temptation and doing evil. Save me from sinful habits and from keeping company with those who are experts in evil. Help me not to share in their sin in any way!

  • because drunkards and gluttons sleep their lives away and end up broke!
